When you contact us, we will carry out the thorough analysis of your addiction problem, and then recommend a workable drug treatment program. Next, we will contact your insurance provider on your behalf and verify your benefits. We will also let you know if you will be responsible for any out-of-pocket expense not covered under your plan.
Contact UsUnited Healthcare’s in-network services in addiction treatment include counseling and ongoing care with specialists, such as psychiatrists and medical directors. United Healthcare does not require prior authorization for inpatient treatment when it is medically necessary.
All United Healthcare Short Term Medical plans offer addiction treatment and rehabilitation for a percentage of the time. Please refer to the plan specifications for details. For example, in some states Residential Treatment (inpatient) is available to clients with this benefit; however in most states, clients can only access Outpatient Treatment (located in an outpatient facility; not in a hospital). Additionally, all United Healthcare plans offer Addiction Treatment and Rehabilitation coverage for a maximum of 30 days per mental health condition within a 365 day period, and 60 days per physical health condition within a 365 day period.
